Wow! I visited this place as was in the hotel across the road to grab a chippy tea after my long day. Upon entering I saw the poster of MondayMadness! 5 fish, chips, 1 sauce and 1 drink!!!!! Thought id try it and wow! That was the best offer of any meal deal in the history of meal deals. Amazing portion for the price and top quality in taste and batter/oil for everything! This has rated a straight 10 and a must if able to grab a chippy tea! 10/10
Have been meaning to visit here for a long time so happy to say it was worth the wait! The restaurant is nice and light and really clean and tidy, quality sea themed decor throughout but not cheesy, I like it. Our waitress welcomed us in and to the table, she was friendly and helpful throughout our visit. The food was excellent, really see why this place won the UK fish and chip shop award, just on another level. I had the lunchtime special and the black pudding fritter, wow, I thought I'd not ordered enough when it arrived but it's plenty of food for sure. They've got a few ales in bottles but would be nice if they had some decent beer, even if it was just a peroni or something. Loved it, highly recommended.
Absolutely delicious Plaice here! Chips were cooked just right, salad was fresh and crispy and the mushy peas are a MUST... oh and don’t forget to add a gherkin! Thank you very much for an enjoyable dinner and with such friendly smiley service!
This restaurant claims to be award winning and I can confirm this! My partner and I have been here several times now when staying in Nottingham and it’s a golden gem if you love fish and chips! My partner always opts for the sausage and chips as she’s not a fan of fish and she absolutely loves it! I always go for the cod and chips and the fish is perfectly battered, the fish is thick and flakey and the chips are divine! The ice cream is to die for if you have a sweet tooth or love your ice creams and deserts. I could not recommend this place enough! Honestly, the staff are lovely, the decor is lovely and rather quirky and cool! Show this amazing chippie some love because it really is the best.
Walking past as staying at local hotel, pleasantly surprised at menu, friendly welcome by staff. Food excellent including pickled egg. Served quickly and effectively, place clean. Loving the hankie headgear. Will return without a doubt
Fish was really tasty and very filling. Excellent menu with a range of items to choose from including drinks. The restaurants own 'Scale Ale' was a great along side the fish. It was not busy when we went with plenty of tables. Staff serving were very friendly and attentive, checking back that everything was OK after receiving the food. Good attention to detail with restaurant theme from lobster pot lights to octopus wine bucket. Just adds to the experience of eating there. Just been for another excellent meal there.
Delicious fish and chips, great lunch offer for 10, ordered batter bits as well. Really creamy deep fried scollop, highly recommend. It was busy so it took awhile for us to place our order.
